Instant Dosa : Grind it, cook it and eat it. :-) at Kukskitchen


I know!! No need to let it rise and more importantly, no need for a 'dosa muri ( ദോശ മുറി)'. Yes folks. All you need to do is to soak your rice grind it and use it immediately.  Method of making this dosa is similar to appam in many respects. You swirl the batter around to the desired shape, you cook with a lid on and you don't turn the dosa over. the end result is a soft white dosa fit for an angel. ( അവസാനം പറഞ്ഞത് ചുമ്മാ ). A few things before you start:

- Since we are skipping the rising phase, make sure you soak your rice thoroughly to avoid a gritty batter.
- Add enough water to the batter enough to make it very thin. Thinner the batter, softer your dosas will be.

Instant dosa
തട്ടിക്കുട്ടു ദോശ 
Preparation time after soaking: 10mts
Cooking time: 20mts
Serves: 4

Ingredients:


Rice - 1 1/2cup
Grated coconut -1/4 cup
Onions chopped- a handful
Cooked rice - 1/4 cup
Fennel seeds - 1 tsp
Water
Salt


Method:


Soak rice for a good 5 to 6 hrs.
Grind all the above ingredients adding a cup of water.
Heat a nonstick pan with sides over medium heat and pour one laddle-ful of batter. Swirl it around to form a circle.
Close with a lid and cook for 1-2 minutes or till the edges start to lift itself.
Serve hot with chick pea curry കടല കറി or stew ഇസ്ട്ടു
